Tom Cruise, you are okay and your War of the Worlds was a very cool movie, but I grew up watching the 1953 George Pal version and when I discovered the Monsters In Motion website and that a 1/144 scale diorama kit was available I got rather Giddy.😍 Quite a few months ago I cobbled together the kit along with some scratch building in order to incorporate the machines into the Tripods and Triplanes game. I made the following slides for the Wings of Glory Aerodrome website.
That was the extent of my slide show, but will it work on the game board? LitteBro and I gave it a test run and it seems to work along with some logical (to us) rule adaptation.
The machines have risen from their craters levitating on their tri-energy "legs"
Formerly enemies now united against this other-worldly threat....
A weakness is inadvertently discovered - levitation over water is difficult but.....
.....the machine rights itself. Fortunately the defending earth flying machines can maneuver fast enough to avoid the machines deadly heat ray - for NOW.
The slow MK IVs the previously night were not so lucky!
Our little scenario worked out pretty well. I think there will be more out of this World battles in the future.
