On The Bench: Aliens: Another Glorious Day In The Corps

Taking a vehicle break, waiting for some 28mm tank riders to arrive, so I flipped to these 30mm figures for the above mentioned game.

That camo could take a while...;-)
Checking my pattern...
The prototype is four color, but at this scale, not enough contrast between the khaki and pale green. I put down a base of Vallejo Iraqi Sand, followed by dot-blotches of brown-violet and beige-brown. First pass brown-violet:
Then Beige-brown second pass:
OK. BDUs done. Next, armor camo. This photo from the Harry Harris Aliens collection of Hudson's armor shows 5 colors. I'll simplify again, with a brown-violet base and wide snaky patches of Luftwaffe Camo Green, Flat Brown, and narrow strips of iraqi sand.
My sample "Hudson" armor:
Like the BDUs, not 100% screen accurate, but looks reasonable at "tabletop range". Here's the result:
Armor, weapons, bases. Ready for some flat spray. Two coats, for tabletop durability.
